About Me
- Dragonfly
- Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, married with a two children and one grandchild living in the UK. Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags and Incredimail letters. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials! Dragonfly

In this tutorial I
used the amazing art of Fantasio!
You need a license to
use Fantasio’s art,
they are available
here.
Be sure to check out
the rest of Fantasio’s art, its awesome!
The kit I am using is
called "DJ’s Girl" and is by
You can get it here.
I love this kit Cora,
thank you!
You will also need a
mask, I used Monti’s circle mask, here.
Font used is AL
Boogie Woogie, here.
As always, my reminder to you to sharpen your elements after
resizing/rotating, this is essential for a good looking tag. Check out my Tips and Tricks page for more
info.
I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal
2, opacity 70, blur 5.
Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood
fill with white.
Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp-09. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all,
paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 80%.
Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed
and apply the drop shadow. I resized
mine 70%.
Open pd12-piano-keys and paste as a new layer. Resize 70% and rotate 10 degrees to the left,
place in position around the tube and apply the drop shadow.
Open pd12-print-01 and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, drag down below the tube, place
in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open pd12-speaker and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open pd12-CD and paste as a new layer. Resize 80%, place in
position and apply the drop shadow.
Open pd12-equaliser and paste as a new layer. Resize 35%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open pd12-headphones and paste as a new layer. Resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the
right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open pd12-mic and paste as a new layer. Resize 50%, place in position and apply the
drop shadow. Open your oblong selection
tool and make sure the feather is set to “0”.
Draw a selection around the end of the mic something like in my
screenshot below, right click on your canvas and “cut”, right click again and “paste
as a new layer”, the cut off section of the mic will paste as a new layer,
bring this layer to the top and join the two parts of the mic up together
again.
Open pd12-music-notes-01 and paste as a new layer, resize
70%, drag down just below the tube, place in position and apply the drop
shadow.
Open pd12-light and paste as a new layer. Rotate 10 degrees to the left and place in
position.
Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary
adjustments including erasing any of the speaker that shows below the piano keys. When you are happy, crop your tag and add
your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set
to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial; if you have any questions,
please email me here. I would, as
always, love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
